In 2025 I started “Timeless/Endless” — an experimental project with the goal of releasing 12 timepiece designs in limited edition batches of twelve, all exploring the idea of time through physical form.

For the second half of the project, I decided to break out of the wall clock format to explore a freestanding timepiece archetype, inspired by mantelpiece clocks.

Timepiece Nº7 interprets time as a blank canvas—a constrained space in which to leave a mark, with full knowledge that nothing is permanent. As much as we try to change the world, so few of us will be remembered for what we did. But is “to be remembered” really the goal? Or is it about leaving your mark in the now, for the now, even if it will be erased tomorrow?

Similar to Timepiece Nº2, Nº7 is a whiteboard clock, open to customization with dry erase markers. However Nº7 is just at home on a bookshelf as it might be on your desk within arm’s reach of a marker. Imagine marking important times throughout your day on an analog clock face. Would it be useful? Interesting? Absurd?
