Cold brewing is the most “laid back” way to make coffee and tea. It’s easy to set up and it’s forgiving: it’s hard to truly make any mistakes. After an overnight steep in the refrigerator, you’re almost guaranteed a “smooth” result—which is what makes cold brew so distinct.

The 1.5 liter borosilicate glass carafe comes together with a laser etched stainless steel insert for brewing—combined with a cork lid and silicone ring for keeping air out and flavor in. The micro perforated steel insert allows water to mix with coffee and tea and keeps particles out of your brew. Simply add your dose of coffee or tea to the stainless steel insert, place the insert into the carafe, pour in your water through the grinds/leaves and stir—then you’re ready to cork and put in the fridge. After 12+ hours, you can remove the insert and start enjoying your cold brew. The carafe can be corked for keeping your brew fresh in the fridge.

Additionally the set works as an immersion brewer for making hot coffee or tea. For coffee, think of it as a “reverse French press” — you let the grinds steep with hot water, and then remove the steel insert to stop the brew immediately. Unlike a French Press, you don’t over extract the grinds at the bottom. For tea, the large steel insert allows your loose leaf leaves plenty of room to expand, and the insert allows for easy re-steeps.
