Speculation: Manual for Moccamaster

Rarely do I share early ideas for Manual products, but it’s 2026 and I’m trying something new.

Initial interest in the “Semi-Manual” bracket has been strong this week, so it has my mind exploring what “hack” to design next. It’s only logical that Manual might make a new glass carafe—we’ve made a few of those over the years.

What if we made a carafe that could slide right into the Moccamaster? This 1.2 liter replacement would eliminate the plastic funnel lid of the original carafe and provide a serious aesthetic upgrade.

What’s exciting is the flexibility beyond the drip machine—it would be a new piece for the Slow System as well. The neck would hold the strainer and cork from our existing line, as well as any pour over dripper (including our own).

After brewing on the Moccamaster, you could use the cork to seal in the heat. You could brew a full pot of tea for multiple guests. You could make cold brew coffee with the strainer.

Of course all of this is speculation—this hasn’t moved into production development as of yet. But if this is an interesting idea and something you’d be curious to learn more about—let me know! (and make sure you’re on our mailing list).
